The Denagene Tajhiz Eco Drop is an economical UV-Vis microvolume spectrophotometer for measuring the concentration and purity of DNA, RNA, and proteins. It reports sample quality within seconds using 1–2 µL of sample and without requiring cuvettes.

Functionally, Eco Drop follows the standard NanoDrop workflow: the sample is placed on the pedestal, a liquid column forms in the optical path, and the system enables spectral measurement by automatically adjusting the pathlength from 1.0 to 0.2 mm. Spectral acquisition and analysis are performed using a 3648-element linear CCD array.

Eco Drop’s main advantage is its LED light source, providing lower power consumption, long lifetime, and more economical maintenance. For this reason, Eco Drop is well suited for laboratories that need a dependable NanoDrop for routine daily QC.

  • More economical than higher-end models, ideal for routine use
  • LED light source with low power consumption and long lifetime
  • Reduced human error from extensive sample preparation and repeated dilutions

Eco Drop Applications in Molecular & Diagnostic Laboratories

  • Measuring DNA/RNA concentration after extraction and before PCR
  • RNA QC prior to RT-PCR and gene expression assays
  • Checking samples for genetics, cloning, and academic research projects
  • Rapid evaluation of proteins and UV-Vis solutions
  • Suitable for PCR labs, molecular labs, research labs, and training/teaching laboratories

Eco Drop Maintenance & Calibration

  • Clean the pedestal after each sample using a lint-free tissue and distilled water/ethanol
  • Perform proper blanking using the same buffer/solvent as the sample
  • Prevent exposure to dust and humidity; keep the device on a stable surface
  • Perform periodic calibration according to laboratory standards and company recommendations

Buying Guide for Denagene Tajhiz NanoDrop (Eco Drop vs. Pro Drop)

Before choosing between Eco Drop and Pro Drop, consider:

  • Daily workload: a higher number of samples makes speed and measurement stability more important
  • Application type: DNA/RNA only, or also proteins and OD600?
  • Need for higher accuracy and speed: Pro Drop (xenon flash lamp) is better for users sensitive to accuracy and repeatability
  • Data storage and export: USB output and connectivity simplify documentation and reporting

Denagene Tajhiz experts can recommend the best option (Eco Drop or Pro Drop) based on your test types, sample volume, and budget. In-country installation, training, support, and periodic calibration services are also available.

After-Sales Service

  • Warranty: 12 months official warranty
  • After-sales support: spare parts supply and servicing for several years after purchase
  • On-site installation and commissioning

    FAQ

What sample types can the DeNA EXT process?

It supports a wide range of samples, including whole blood, serum/plasma, swabs, cells, homogenized tissue, and common viral/bacterial specimens (depending on the selected kit and protocol).

How many samples can it run at once and how long does a run take?

The DeNA EXT processes 1–32 samples per run (32-test model). Typical extraction time is 10–30 minutes, depending on the protocol.

Does it support custom protocols and different extraction kits?

Yes. The system comes with 20 pre-set protocols and also supports defining new/custom protocols, allowing compatibility with various kits and workflows.

How does it reduce contamination and improve consistency compared to manual extraction?

It performs extraction in an automated workflow with auto-calibration before each run, minimizing operator-dependent variation and reducing the risk of handling-related errors and cross-contamination.
